HOW IT ALL BEGAN

I started in the tile industry working in a tile shop and seeing the many problems arising with customers not knowing how many tiles were needed, how much adhesive and grout needed, and most important customers getting the tiles home and not happy with them because of shade or colour not really matching with their existing decor.

With all that in mind I set up Suffolk Tiles Ltd, I started out believe it or not but placing myself on boot sales pulling tiled boards out of my car to put on display. This proved to be very successful down to the fact that when possible I visited the house to measure and to show tiles to the customer in their own house, light makes the difference to all tiles and being able to look at the tiles in their light in the surroundings where they are going to be fitted made all the difference.

I then moved to Mannings Amusement Park in Felixstowe placing myself on the Sunday market, still pulling tiled boards out of my car but putting a lot more on display and cover over my head with a stall. I had to be there a year, attend every week and all weathers to prove that I was very serious in what I was doing before being allowed a full time unit.

I then moved into a full time unit which gave me more space to display a huge amount of tiles.

Everything has gone from strength to strength and with hundreds of happy customers I believe this is just the start.

And now we are open seven days a week.
